Choosing a diffuser
Reed diffuser or Scent Stems?
- Reed diffusers (250ml) – fragrance oil draws up through the reeds and scents the room continuously. Available from Glasshouse Fragrances and Circa.
- Circa Scent Stems – a liquidless diffuser with nothing to spill. Swap in a refill when the scent fades. A good choice for desks and small spaces.
Where to put it
- Entry and living areas: fresh or floral scents such as Glasshouse Lost in Amalfi, Flower Therapy or Circa Cotton Flower and Freesia.
- Bathrooms: clean scents such as Circa Oceanique or Sea Salt and Vanilla.
- Bedrooms: soft, warm scents such as Circa Amber and Sandalwood or Vanilla Bean and Allspice.
Keep diffusers out of direct sun and away from heaters, which make the oil evaporate faster. Place them on a stable, protected surface, as fragrance oil can mark timber and painted finishes.
Getting the most from it
- Flip the reeds every week or so to refresh the scent.
- Use fewer reeds in a small room and more in a large room.
- Circa Scent Stems refills come in several fragrances, so you can change the scent with the season.
