Typical Sydney wedding flower budgets run from around $1,500 for a small wedding with bridal party flowers and a few table pieces, to $3,000 to $8,000 for a mid-sized wedding with ceremony and reception styling, and well beyond $10,000 for large weddings with arches, stage and entrance installations. Where your wedding lands depends on the number of pieces, the flowers you choose, the season and how much set-up the day needs. What drives the cost of wedding flowers
Scale and number of pieces
The single biggest factor is how many things need flowers. Twenty guest tables at $120 each is $2,400 before you have added a bouquet, and a 300-guest reception has very different needs to a 60-guest lunch.
Which flowers you choose
Garden roses, peonies, phalaenopsis orchids and imported specialty blooms cost several times more per stem than standard roses, chrysanthemums, carnations or gypsophila. Most good designs mix a few premium focal flowers with more affordable supporting blooms and foliage.
Season and demand
Flowers in season locally are cheaper and usually last longer. Flowers flown in out of season cost more. Labour, delivery, set-up and pack-down
Arches, flower walls and hanging installations take hours to build on site. Late-night pack-down, venues with tight bump-in windows, and multiple locations (a church, a photo location and a reception) all add labour.
Hire items
Stands, vessels, arches, candle holders and table runners are often hired rather than bought, and appear as their own line on a quote.

Delivery and set-up for weddings is quoted per event. For everyday orders, our standard delivery fees are $19.95 within 25 km of Greenacre and $45 for 25 to 40 km.
Example budgets
- Bridal party only: bouquet, two bridesmaids, buttonholes and corsages. Roughly $600 to $1,500.
- Mid-sized wedding, around 100 guests: bridal party flowers, two ceremony pieces, a bridal table and ten to twelve centrepieces. Roughly $3,000 to $7,000.
- Large wedding, 250 to 400 guests: common for Lebanese and Arab weddings in Sydney, with entrance pieces, stage or backdrop, bridal table and tall centrepieces. Often $10,000 and up.
These examples are illustrative. Two weddings with the same guest count can differ by thousands depending on design.
Ways to save without it looking cheap
- Move ceremony pieces to the reception. Pedestals from the aisle can frame the bridal table or the cake.
- Spend where the camera looks. The bouquet, the backdrop and the bridal table appear in most photos; guest tables appear in few.
- Alternate centrepieces. Tall on every second table and low with candles on the others gives height at lower cost.
- Choose in-season flowers and let your florist recommend the best value blooms in your colours.
- Use roses well. Standard roses in a considered palette look luxurious and are available year-round.
- Avoid peak dates such as the week of Valentine's Day or Mother's Day if flowers are a big part of your budget.
Wedding flower timeline
- 6 to 12 months out: book your florist, especially for spring and autumn Saturdays.
- At least 2 to 3 months out: consultation, design and quote. Large weddings benefit from more time.
- 4 to 6 weeks out: confirm table numbers, bridal party and any changes.
- 1 to 2 weeks out: share the final run sheet, venue contacts and bump-in times.
- Day before and the day: everything is made fresh, delivered and set up.
